‘Forgive Me’ is the first video clip off the twelvetrack third album of Nigeria’s superstar reggae artist called African China.
With the beautiful beach scenery and the afrocaribbean symbol of beach coconut trees, the clip’s main location was the perfect site for love serenade, especially in the case of a plea. A speedboat took African China through the sea to the shore where he began to lay his sincere apology with a heartfelt harmony that could drift one into a sweet trance. In his plea he counted… one am in love, two you’re my wife, three you’re the only one I think about, four you’re the mother of my child… China crowned the plea with a vow… ‘I promise, I will love you till I die.’
African China visited London in early September and through a two-week promotion of the brilliant video clip he revealed another side of his lyrical prowess. He is known with lyrics on African struggle. ‘Forgive Me’ is a step into African China’s considerate and humble personality.
The song is set to step into the hearts of the machos who seem a bit too stiff or proud to admit their wrongs.
The twelve-track third project of the multi-award winning artist is captioned ‘London Fever’. Released under his new label, 45 Records, the album featured collaborations with artists such as Likkle Johnny, Cameleon, Maggie and London-based Shady Blue.
African China became a household name in Nigeria after releasing his debut ‘Crises’ in 1999. He achieved platinum with the debut after selling over a million copies. The sophomore album, ‘Mr President’, consolidated the record set by the debut and went further to open international curtains for the versatile fusion reggae star. |
