Newham Council Workers go pink

NEWHAM COUNCIL staff donned all things pink to raise money for people affected by breast cancer.

A coffee morning held at Newham Town Hall, East Ham, raised more than 150 for the charity Breast Cancer Care. Staff and visitors to the Town Hall enjoyed homemade cakes and brought raffle tickets in support of the fundraiser. Prizes included a massage courtesy of East Spa at East Ham Leisure Centre and dinner for two donated by Novotel at ExCeL London. Other prizes were generously donated by Newham Council staff.

Deputy Mayor Councillor Christine Bowden said: "The council proudly supports breast cancer care month. The money raised will help Breast Cancer Care to provide support and information to the thousands of people across the UK who are diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as their families and friends."
